Policies for the 2010-2011 school year

Please keep this copy for your records and after reading, sign the attached sheet and bring it to your next lesson. Thank you!


My monthly rates for piano lessons are as follows beginning August 1, 2010.

30 minute lesson $20.00 per lesson due at the first lesson of the month

45 minute lesson $30.00 per lesson due at the first lesson of the month

60 minute lesson $40.00 per lesson due at the first lesson of the month

To calculate your monthly cost, count the number of lesson you will have that month and multiply by the above rate. These lesson fees reserve a weekly time slot which works like rent you would pay for an apartment. These are flat fees to reserve you, or your child’s, weekly lesson time, whether you choose to attend or miss


I cannot refund payment when a student misses his lesson. You may call me to try to reschedule your lesson, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to help you.  If, for some reason, you must miss a lesson, please notify me at least one week (or not less than 24 hours if possible) ahead of time. If the weather is 45 below or colder, I will notify you whether I am teaching or not. Any students who begin lessons in September will not be refunded for vacation weeks taken off during the school year. Also, I will be taking December and January off at no cost to you.  If I have to cancel your lesson time for any reason, I will reimburse or credit you your lesson cost.


If a student/parent decides to stop taking lessons, he must tell me two weeks ahead of time. The student/ parent will pay for the following two weeks of lessons, whether the student/parent chooses to attend or not. Please keep in mind that on the following page you sign saying that you intend to take lessons for the entire 2010-2011 school year.


All payments for lessons are due at the first lesson of the month and no later than the 10th of each month. Please do not pay ahead of time. Late payments upset my personal billing process, as do early payments. A $15.00 late fee will be charged for any payments received after the 15th of each month. You may pay by either cash or check, and I can write you a receipt for reimbursement if you are a home schooled student on a school program.


Students, please treat my home with respect. Please remove your shoes at the door and do not meddle with my personal belongings.  Please make sure that your children to not drift from the waiting area into other rooms of my house.

Please, keep sibling interference at a minimum during piano lessons.


While I appreciate that many of my students endeavor to arrive early, please be advised that this year lessons will begin on time, and not early.  If you arrive early, please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled time.  Also, parents who leave their student for more than 10 minutes following their lesson will be charged $1.00 per minute after the first ten minutes.
